Since we launched it, we’ve received plenty of positive feedback for the Adventure Tower: from admirers, certainly, but above all from those who’ve mounted and used it, often in ways far more demanding than we ever will. Which is the best form of compliments!
But we are also aware that many would like to carry out a similar upgrade, so they can pursue this wonderful hobby of Adventouring more safely and with fewer worries, yet they are held back by tight financial constraints.
So we asked ourselves what we can do with our tower to make it more accessible, whilst retaining the features that make it unique (Spider, Tower Rack, Device Holder, and so on).

We can keep the shape, saving time and money with new check-fit prototypes … but saving the gorgeous silhouette and the abundant space for cabling too.
We can replace carbon fiber with aluminium:
4mm thickness are good for the skid plate, should be good enough for the tower too.
Simplify the shape of the covers…
remove some parts…
plain bolts, no colours accents …
neither for the USB plug…
Et voilà, we have a new tower, the new Dark Tower (yes, we like the King)

In the end, we ended up with a similar yet different product: not only cheaper, but also with different qualities.
Whereas the Adventure Tower excels in terms of materials and technical choices, the Dark Tower stands out for the functional simplicity that characterises it;
While the Adventure Tower, thanks to its modular construction, allows for the easy replacement of any damaged parts, the Dark Tower allows for ‘on-the-spot’ repairs such as straightening out bends or even welding cracks.
Both are lighter than the similarly equipped original tower, both, in their own way, are essential and reliable components for our adventures, both allow us to use large (and heavy) navigation equipment and carry useful items behind the windscreen.
In short: same same, but different,
both pure GiamaicaWorx!
